Corning Inc. is a world leader in speciality glass and ceramics. Since 1970, when Corning invented the first low-loss optical fire, it has been the market leader in supplying fire optic cable world wide.
During the telecommunications boom of the late 1990’s and early 2000’s Corning Telecommunications was among the largest manufacturer of passive and active optic components used in fire optic telecommunication systems. It was during this time that I relocated to the USA to work for Corning Laserton, manufacturer of telecommunications laser products, as a product manager of high power Raman pump lasers.
Developing a new product marketing strategy was a key aspect of this role that lead me to successfully define, position and launch two new products, the Optilock VR2 and VR2e. This was achieved by working across the organisation including working closely with customers, engineering & development, and fully understanding the market.
